Self-Employed Persons Immigration Program
The Self-Employed Persons Program refers to the “Self-employed Persons Program.” Unlike skilled immigration, there are no language proficiency requirements for self-employed immigration according to the Canadian Immigration Department. This means that applicants for self-employed immigration do not need to know English or French. What the immigration department values is the applicant’s ability to be self-employed, and how they can contribute to Canada’s economy, culture, or arts. It is worth noting that the immigration department specifically refers to “individuals with artistic or athletic talents,” and this includes a wide range of professions: writers, athletes, actors, photographers, makeup artists, even librarians, fitness coaches, and other careers related to culture or sports!
