British Columbia Entrepreneur Immigration Program
The Entrepreneur Immigration category within the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) aims to attract experienced entrepreneurs who can contribute to innovation and economic development. Successful applicants have the opportunity to invest in and manage a new or existing business in the province, thereby creating employment opportunities.
Program Requirements:
- Minimum net worth of CAD 600,000.
- If invited to apply, a qualified accountant’s review of personal net worth must be submitted.
- Develop a comprehensive business plan that demonstrates the sustainability of the proposed business operations.
- As part of the business plan, invest a minimum of CAD 200,000 in eligible expenses and plan to create at least one new job in British Columbia.
- Demonstrate active management involvement in the day-to-day operations of the business established in British Columbia.
Candidate Criteria:
- Successful and experienced: Possess industry knowledge and a strong background in the sector where the proposed business will be established in British Columbia.
- Have transferable skills, experience, and investment capital, and be prepared to execute the business plan.
- Understand how to make the business profitable, recognize risks, be familiar with local business conditions, and identify necessary resources.
- Know the actions required and can clearly articulate them.
- Can demonstrate due diligence in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the local business environment.
- Language proficiency at CLB 4 (Canadian Language Benchmark), which is equivalent to IELTS scores of Listening 4.5, Reading 3.5, Writing 4, and Speaking 4.
